First Thoughts: The Anti-Iranian Protest In New York. United We Stand? Not On Your Life or Mine. Period

Good Morning Everyone. Once again, this is something that not only do I not understand, but also A lot of people that I have talked to do not either. The Iranian President is supposed to be coming once again to the United Nations to speak and give all of his redirect and hate speech. Why in the world is it that We The People and our Government are allowing this man to come onto our soil, when he is a known Terrorist as well as being President of a Terrorist State?

Why is it that we are letting our government to give this Terrorist permission to come onto our shores, our land, to come to the United Nations to speak? Does not make a bit of sense. Moreover, neither does this.

So I was listening to the News stations on xm radio and watching the news channels when I get into the truck stops and finding out that there is a protest against Iran coming to speak and supposedly this is in recent years been a show of Unity between all our people. Now then, why is it that this year it is different?

Seeing that this is being held in New York, being that the United Nations Building is there, Senator Hillary Clinton was invited to show Unity. As well, Governor Sarah Palin was invited as well to be there and it is unclear to me, seeing that reports are varied, but both women I think were to speak. However, Unfortunately, Senator Clinton got upset. Why? Isn’t this supposed to be a show of a Unified American People? No, Senator Clinton, pulled out of the event because she did not want to show Unity and give the Idea that she supported Governor Palin. Huh? This was not designed to do this in the first place but that is apparently, why Hillary decided that she was not going to be there, and boy, oh boy, she was not happy to say the least, knowing that governor Palin was even supposed to be there.

So, then we have Barak Obama and the Democrats start protesting on the idea that The Republican Vic-Presidential Candidate was even invited. So Governor Palin is then Dis-invited. For what reason? I am sure it is because the Democrats whined enough because first off Sarah was going to be there, as well that they were insulted for they were invited second. Why are any of the people involved worried about politics.

It seems that with all of this bickering and squabbling that both Dem’s and all involved forgot why this whole rally or protest or whatever it is was supposed to be. It is meant to show Unity. Unifying The American People Against the Ideals of Terrorism and The blatancy of having Someone for which the Country he Represents Hates America and Israel and has Every intention on making our Armed Forces one thing that he wants to destroy as well as the Ideals of Democracy in Iraq.

He Sponsors terrorists in Iraq as well as wanting to make Iraq a Terrorist state. So why is it that the people of this protest that is supposed to happen in New York having a problem with Unity? Why are Senator Hillary Clinton, Senator Barak Obama and The Democrats having problems with having a Unified front against this Visit?

It Absolutely shows our enemies of these United States that for some reason, we are Not United against this problem. Moreover, why is that? Governor Palin does not and did not have a problem with it. Nope. She accepted and wanted to show Unity for this rally. This protest. It just seems to me that instead of whining about all of the political redirect, That the Democrats should have looked at this as an Opportunity to Show Our Enemies that no matter what, that against Terrorism, that we are United. For only Standing United Against Terrorism are we going to Destroy and Eliminate Al-kiada as well as make sure that Terrorism does not nor Ever come close to our shores. We shall Never Forget 9-11 nor should we be anything but Absolute in making sure that something even close to this, Never happens here or in Any of our Nations Allied States or Country’s.

The American Civil Liberty’s Union: Why are they Against The Liberty’s of U.S. American Citizens?

. What is going on in this country when We The People, given a country that we should love and take care of from Our Founding Fathers, why are we allowing things such as Our Pledge of Allegiance to this country, one of our Civil Duties and our rights to be stomped on? We, and I do mean all of us are letting a very few individuals take control and decide for the masses. Us!! Period.

Now this is my opinion, and probably only my opinion, but isn’t it time for We The People to take back what is rightfully ours. I remember and I know a lot of us do, when we were young and in Elementary school and even Junior High and even High School, having to say our Pledge of Allegiance to our Flag. The United States Flag. Does anyone else remember this? Does anyone else remember how we all felt back then? Probably. I do not think we honestly understood the meaning of what we were saying, or the meaning behind it. Let us look at this, really think about what we do have and what a Few lawyers, and people that really do not like freedom want to take away from U.S.

In reading a website about Our Pledge of Allegiance, I came up with something that I do think that We The People should keep in mind. I am taking this right from that website.

I Pledge Allegiance	I Promise to be faithful and true (Promise my loyalty)
to the flag	to the emblem that stands for and represents
of the United States	all 50 states, each of them individual, and individually represented on the flag
of America	yet formed into a UNION of one Nation.
and to the Republic	And I also pledge my loyalty to the Government that is itself a Republic, a form of government where the PEOPLE are sovereign,
for which it stands,	this government also being represented by the Flag to which I promise loyalty.
one Nation under God,	These 50 individual states are united as a single Republic under the Divine providence of God, "our most powerful resource" (according to the words of President Eisenhower)
Indivisible,	and can not be separated. (This part of the original version of the pledge was written just 50 years after the beginning of the Civil War and demonstrates the unity sought in the years after that divisive period in our history)
with Liberty	The people of this Nation being afforded the freedom to pursue "life, liberty, and happiness",
and Justice	And each person entitled to be treated justly, fairly, and according to proper law and principle,
for All.	And these principles afforded to EVERY AMERICAN, regardless of race, religion, color, creed, or any other criteria. Just as the flag represents 50 individual states that can not be divided or separated, this Nation represents millions of people who can not be separated or divided.

Now why does the A.C.L.U. Want to make it so that our children do not have to or need to say this first thing in the morning. The American Civil Liberty’s Union Certainly is not doing anything for Americans. No, instead, they are taking away our Civil Liberty and this makes no sense to me whatsoever. Does this make sense to anyone in this country?

To the American People I ask this question. Why is it that a few people in this country can change something that has been an institution in our schools without the Authority of the rest of U.S.?

In 1892 and since then there have been changes three other changes made because the American People thought that those changes were necessary with the final change being done when President Dwight D Eisenhower made the final on Flag Day in 1954. It was included in the Flag Code (title 36) in June of 1942. So why when congress includes it, does a bunch of lawyers decide that it goes against the Constitution?

Does this matter to anyone other than me? Well I do think so because it happens to be in our court system right now. However, I do not think that our courts have the right to overturn a Congressional Act. I could be wrong, but unless We The People gets into gear, we are going to lose something that a few Not So Good Men want to change. If we do not start telling Congress and the Senate what We The People, the people that really put them into office, how we feel, and then it is going to be our fault that things keep going in the wrong Direction. We also need to let them know it is their job to do what we want them to, not what they think needs to be done for us.

Sharon Herro, one of my astute colleagues had this to say about this article and I thought am thankful for her input:

I Pledge Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands One Nation Under GOD with Liberty and Justice for all. I said this pledge every morning in grade school, there were no students complaining that they were being forced to do this. We all held our hands over our hearts and recited together.

Now the ACLU is telling us that we are forcing children to say this pledge and making them believe in GOD. No we are not!!!

America is home of the free land of the brave right? The ACLU needs to fight for our rights to say our Pledge, stand and take our hats off to respect our Flag, to say Merry Christmas not just Happy Holidays, They need to protect our rights as Americans to enjoy our freedoms that our uniformed men and women fight for. The ACLU is changing the rules for the few and not the many.

They listen to one person complaining and change our rights to suit that individual. What about our rights? They do not have to say the Pledge if they do not want to, but at least stand and be respectful to those of us who do. If they are that unhappy here with our laws and what have you, then by all means go live somewhere else and see how many rights you have. But leave my rights alone. Your rights stop where mine begin. Let the ACLU ponder that. When we go into another country we are expected to respect their laws and right, why cannot they do the same for us and quit trying to change our country to be like theirs.Without We the People having anything to say about things, then the way that I look at it, we might not have our freedoms if We The People let organizations like the American Civil Liberty’s Union, others decide what freedoms, and liberty is that we are going to have.

Patriots and Patriotism:Ohio National Guard, Their Responsibilities, Taking care of Family, home and Country.

First off, Supporting your troops is so Vitally important. Why? I want you to think about something. Without The Brave Men and Women of our Armed Services, Plain and Simple, We The People would not have any of our freedoms that we have today. We might live in socialism or worse, communism. We used to have a draft, to where men were told that Uncle Sam wanted you to go into training and become part of the Army or one of the armed services. Well, Today, those men and women volunteer to do a job that some don’t want anything to do with.

About three weeks ago, I came into the truck stop in Bridgeport, Michigan. Just a day after I wrote and published the article, Patriots and Patriotism. When I realized that I could make a difference, put a smile on a soldiers face, a rush came over me. So I went in there, seeing that this is a main fuel stop for me, to do two things. Get the truck taken care of, and make sure that I could talk to and maybe thank as many of them as I could. You see, they don’t look for the thanks. Because there are so many that have the “I don’t like the war” Attitude, that they don’t think about the Idea that, These Men and Women for various reasons, have volunteered to keep America safe. And it doesn’t matter to them why they are there. When the time comes, and the call is made either by the Governor of the state, Or if they are called into Full duty status, They drop everything and salute, and they move. Why? Because they are needed to make sure that America is taken care of.

A part of the National Guard training involves two weeks training in the summer going somewhere and making sure that their skills are honed. Made as sharp as it can be so when they are called upon, they can do their individual jobs that they came into the military for. Doesn’t matter what it might be, they are called upon one weekend a month, and those two weeks a year under peaceful circumstances to do what they signed up to do.

So, as I talked to them. Told them why I was thanking them, at first their demeanor was professional, because they have that uniform on. But once they understood that I was there to thank them for their service, that sort of changed. You seen their gratitude. You seen a pride in them because someone noticed the good that they were doing. I know that this article is long, but stay with me. You have to know what they think. One soldier said it best and I am not going to quote, because im only human, and I will probably get it wrong. But in what they said, there heart was saying this. No matter what, when or where. We will defend this country because Liberty is the way that they feel things should be. The Idea that one should be able to walk on a street with no fear of anyone harming them. To talk about Anything and not be told that you shouldn’t say that or you will be put into prison for your beliefs. That our Freedom matters so much that if needed, they will Die for our Defense. Period.

That is what we must, have to and need to thank them for. For being a Hero, A Patriot. Someone who will take up that call when needed no matter what, where or Any reason when called upon to Defend our Constitution, Rights and Freedoms that we take for granted. I went away from them with a pride in our country that I have known since I was real young. But something else that day. I walked away from them, with a tear. I was proud to know that even in the darkest hour, that I was protected with Some of the best men and women of our Modern World. The Men and Women or Our Armed Forces.

I have to Apologize to them for the lateness of this article. If you know of any of these men and women in these pictures, let them know that they are up here for them to take and copy. This article is here to thank them. And to let We The People know that these guys and gals are here for U.S. All of us. For they are our defenders. They deserve Our up most gratitude and Appreciation. So when you see, or if you know someone in our Armed Forces, let them know that they are doing a good job. And that We The People Thank them. For without them, We The People Would not have the Freedoms and The Liberties that we do dearly take for granted. Have a great Week.

One Angry Woman: One woman’s prospective on the Terrorism in America.

Hello from the Canadian roads. This is something that I asked one of my Owner Operator Friends Steve Demogola to put together. He got an email and so we thought we could comment on this. There has been to my knowledge no changes made to this other than comments made by me at the end.

I have started to put together a kind of Team so that we can give you more to think about on Semilife. Let me know what you think about Steve’s Contribution. We here on the site hope that you will let all of us know what you think with comments. Let us all know how we are doing. Now, on to Steves article:

I got this email from a friend and I would have to agree with it.

A Letter from one “Angry Woman”. I don’t know who wrote it but they should have signed it. Some powerful words. This woman should run for president. It was written by a housewife from New Jersey and sounds like it! This is one ticked off lady.

“Are we fighting a war on terror or aren’t we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from our nation’s capital and in a field in Pennsylvania? Didn’t nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible burning or crushing death that day, or didn’t they?

And, I’m supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was “desecrated” when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet? …. Well, I don’t. I don’t care at all. I’ll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11. I’ll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia. I’ll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for chopping off Nick Berg’s head while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.

I’ll care when the cowardly so-called “insurgents” in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques. I’ll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana, care about the innocent children within range of their own suicide. I’ll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution’s Bill of Rights.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don’t care how we get the information, just that the information is gotten.

When I see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have been humiliated in what amounts to a college-hazing incident, rest assured: I don’t care. When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head, when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank: I don’t care.

When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed “special” food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being “mishandled,” you can absolutely believe in your heart of hearts: I don’t care. And oh, by the way, I’ve noticed that sometimes it’s spelled “Koran” and other times “Quran.” Well Jimmy Crack Corn and-you guessed it-I don’t care!!

If you agree with this viewpoint, pass this message and where to find it to all of your friends, as well leave a comment on the site. Sooner or later, this message will get to the people responsible for this ridiculous behavior!

If you don’t agree, then by all means leave a comment as well because your opinion does matter Should you choose not to get involved, then please don’t complain when atrocities committed by radical Muslims happen here in our great Country! And may I add:

In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the Anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England’s Prime Minister Tony Blair’s words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America, he said: “A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in.. And how many want out.”

Some real strong words, aren’t they? If only WE The People should take notice and stop being dumb down by today’s media, and take a stance on the true value of right or wrong. I’m only one man, but that’s all it takes to make a difference.

What a powerful message from a lady that honestly has America in her heart. I know that there are people in These United States that have not forgotten that America Stands for Freedom. If not for the brave Volunteers That make up our Armed Forces, We would not have the freedoms that we have today. No matter When they Served, they deserve to hear from all America that We The People are proud of what they do.

Doesn’t matter why they are there, But, That they are on the front lines making sure that We The People are safe, Free and knowing that in a moments notice, Our Military are on the job to defend The constitution of These United States. No matter where, or when or why Freedom is in jeopardy, Our Men and Women or our Military is at the ready. Ready to make sure that Freedom and Democracy is safe. That life, and the pursuit stays for every free society, and that Liberty Stands tall.

What ever you feel, you and you live in these United States, you have to agree that we all need to reflect why July 4^th is our Independence Day. Without knowing the Reason we are celebrating, This is just another day. But with the idea, We The People Owe a debt of gratitude to our Men and Women of the Armed Forces. Patriots and Patriotism. Remembering our Sacrifices: Our American Heroes.

Hope your having a great evening and night as I write this from the Truck stop at the Flyin J in London, Ontario. This afternoon, I was excited and humbled all in the same day. Why? Through a contact in a convenience store in an out of the way place, and with phone calls that were made to me and from me after, I had to find out more. The power of thought is amazing. I would like a couple of minutes of your time because if it wasn’t for the sacrifice of Our Armed Forces, would we have the time to do anything in our Daily lives Freely? Read on my friends, because im going to bring some powerful words to your heart, mind and soul.
If you look back in the small time that the United States has been a country, and think to yourself that with all the greatness we have, with all the Freedom to do what we want to at will. If it wasn’t for the Sacrifice of the American Heroes of past and present, We The People would have nothing of any kind of Freedom today. These brave Men and Women of the U.S Army, U. S Navy, U. S Air Force, U. S Marine Corps, The National Guard as well as the U.S Coast Guard give you and I the ability through their jobs and careers to make absolutely sure that We are safe from harm, that our safety both at home here in these United States are comfortable and Over Seas we can walk around and not worry about something happening to us.

These Brave Soldiers don’t worry about timing. In fact their job is on 24hours a day. When The United States was attacked at Pearl Harbor, and our soldiers went to war in World War II, they did what had to be done. Sacrifice and struggle got this country through. not only by the soldiers but by the families of the soldiers. Most gave some, but Some Gave All. From the past to the present day, Our American Heroes stand at the ready to make sure that Our Freedoms are kept in Tact. Not only do they keep us safe here at home, But They are all over the Globe, Changing lives and Making Democracy and keeping Freedom Alive.

The state of Minnesota should be proud to have someone like Richard Glasgow in their Midst. This man is doing great things for not only Our troops, but their families as well. Why? Because he truly cares and shows this by giving them something to show a thanks to them. Kris Janisch wrote in Oct, 2006 of what he was doing and why the cards were so important.

Mr. Glasgow was quoted in that article telling about them. "Americans want to say thank you, especially Minnesotans," he said. "But they don't know how to do it without interrupting them. If a soldier walked in and we started clapping, they might feel uncomfortable. But you can just walk up and drop off a card." It is Patriots like Richard Glasgow that teach us that We need to stop and think about our true reason for our freedoms and the Sacrifice that Our Men and Women of Our Armed Forces do for us. Along side Mr. Glasgow is someone who is a true Patriot as well. Kim Fuhrman is doing her Patriot part as well. Made for both men and women, she shows her true patriotism and how her family has given to this country. Lady’s and Gentlemen, we need to show not only our troops the thanks, but through both these people and what they do, we need to make sure that we all support this Noble of causes. Through some angelic ways I have been brought this gift, and I hope by bringing this to you as well, you can feel the ultimate power that we all have in showing Our Men and Women in The Military Services that We Appreciate them in all that they do.

For if it were not for them, giving there all, we would not have the Freedoms that we have today. From World War II to Korea, Viet Nam to Panama to the Present War on Terrorism, if we don’t think our men and women deserve those thank you’s, then we have Truly forgotten on what it is to be Free. And if we forget, then We will forget that We The People are in charge of our Own Destiny’s

Well, it is official. Senator Barack Obama has got the number of votes to Most likely clinch the Democratic Nomination. Senator Hillary Clinton apparently is not going to conceit to the idea that she has not won, but Hillary has said that she would consider

Possibly taking the second chair. Hmm. She wasn’t asked but she said she would. And the speeches by both Barack and Hillary have been done. Senator John McCain had a speech earlier this evening. And Two of the three (and if I missed the third I am sorry) have talked about the troops, but I don’t think Most of the American people have thought about this. No matter what you think about the War, you Must, you Shall and you have to do one thing. Support Our Troops.

Most of them are around 20 yrs old. Most if not all of them have volunteered to be in our military. But even now, Most American people don’t think about just what they are and have done for us. These Men and Women have stood up for you and me. These Brave people, coming from all walks of life, have taken up the call and decided that they want to Defend our way of life. To Defend the Constitution of The United States. To take care of our Enemies, both foreign and Domestic. To make sure that you and I sleep peacefully in the night. To make sure that each and every one of us have and are able to have conversations about anything we want to, no matter what it is.

To be able to walk freely and do what We The People want to do. They don’t take their jobs for granted, for they know why they are there. The Men and Women of our armed forces know that if at any time, day or night they could be called to make that ultimate sacrifice and take a bullet for lady liberty, for without her we do not stand Free.

It does not matter whether these men and women were in W.W.II or in Korea, Viet Nam or Any conflict that we have fought the Foe of Evil including the War in Iraq. It shouldn’t matter why because any war is Hell. I don’t like it any more than you. Wish that this never had to happen. But listening to The Truckin Bozo this afternoon and evening (XM-171 4pm-7pm) one driver put it right. Without bloodshed, we don’t have freedom. You see a Veteran, Walk up to him or her and say THANK YOU. Thank you for your service. Go buy them a cup of coffee or a meal, for they gave you the right to walk down the street and be able to speak without worrying who was listening. To be able to sleep at peace tonight and know you’re safe. Keep them in your prayers and keep them safe, for without them, we wouldn’t have our Freedom. Have a good one.
